4. Newcastle United 7-1 Spurs

There's nothing quite as heartbreaking as a hammering - and this was the worst one that Spurs have suffered in the Premier League era. This was at a time when Newcastle United - under the leadership of Kevin Keegan - were big time players in the Premier League. However, in this instance, they had gone seven games without a win and lost any hope of mounting a title challenge - and Spurs felt the wrath of their frustration. Two goals each from Alan Shearer, future Spurs star Les Ferdinand and Rob Lee, as well as a goal from Phillipe Albert gave Newcastle a seven-goal lead. Allan Nielsen pegged one back with a minute to go, but it was obviously a mere consolation - if you can even call it that.
