9. Daniel Cormier

Just a few short months ago, Daniel Cormier's inclusion on a list of heavyweights might have raised an eyebrow. Because while Cormier started his UFC career as a heavyweight (and prior to that, had ruled the roost in rival Strikeforce, winning the Heavyweight Grand Prix tournament in that promotion), he was best known as a light heavyweight.

The light heavyweight champion, in fact.

Of course, as UFC fans know, Cormier decided to move back to his old stomping grounds in the heavyweight division earlier this month. At UFC 226, Cormier took on Stipe Miocic. Miocic was, at the time, the most feared heavyweight on the planet, the man who broke the UFC heavyweight title defense record, retaining his championship on three separate occasions.

As good as D.C. was at light heavyweight against anyone not named Jon Jones, there were a lot of questions. At 39, could he handle the heavy hands of gold glove winner Miocic?

Then Cormier went and knocked the Ohio-based star out, answering our questions with a resounding "Yes!"

You might not think of Cormier as a pure knockout artist, because he's not. His wrestling is so good that he frequently finds himself in position for a submission, or simply goes the distance, dominating from pillar to post. However, with ten knockouts on his record, he's certainly worthy of inclusion here.
