2. Emmanuel Adebayor & Andre Villas-Boas

Another high-profile bust-up that Andre Villas-Boas had whilst at Spurs was with Togo striker Emmanuel Adebayor. Adebayor was humiliated by the Portuguese coach, left out of the team's plans under his leadership and forced to train with Tottenham's kids after falling out with him and he has revealed exactly what happened since Villas-Boas left the club. Adebayor said this about the situation:

Don't get me wrong, he brought his ideas and I told him: 'Your ideas will not help the team'. I have had a chance to play for a lot of top clubs in my career and I know how it's supposed to be. I told him one v one and he didn't want to listen, and then I told him in front of the group. Maybe it was a mistake. Maybe it was a good one, maybe it was a bad one. I don't know, but I spoke my mind.

Adebayor would be brought back in to the first team picture by Tim Sherwood as soon as Villas-Boas departed and proved that the coach had been wrong to exclude him, as he finished Spurs' top scorer in the 2013-14 season, despite only playing in half of it.
