Even some title challengers get surprisingly little when you compare the sport with boxing - I know, I know, it's a different business model and undercard boxers can make even less. Still, it's something that needs to be continually looked at. UFC 175 was the biggest event so far this year, and the total payroll spoke to that: $1,158,000 in disclosed fight purses wound up distributed to the fighters. While we don't know what the event sold on Pay-Per-View, it did take in $4.2 million at the gate, so fighter salary is more than covered. Of course, there are also performance bonuses, and the sort of locker room bonuses that some UFC fighters tell us happen from time to time. Not to mention sponsorship money. We're not privy to any of that (well, we are to performance bonuses). What we are privy to are the fight purses as disclosed by the Nevada State Athletic Commission for this past weekend's UFC 175 at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas. So lets examine the Top 10 Highest Earning Fighters at UFC 175. We'll cover a couple of their opponents as well - and some of the numbers might just surprise you! These numbers reflect just what the fighters were paid outright. We'll talk about Fight of the Night/Performance of the Night bonuses, but they are not included in the rankings.
