The Welshman found himself at the epicentre of last summer's transfer window as Spanish giants Real Madrid swooped in with a 100M deal to sign the 24-year old super talent. This massive transfer fee was accompanied by a similarly sizeable annual pay packet for Bale. Gareth had been instrumental in Spur's 2012-13 season, capable of single-handedly bagging the 3-points for Tottenham with his natural athleticism, great crossing ability and mean left boot. Though his opening few months at Madrid were plagued by injury, Bale has on the whole fit well into the team. He even managed to score the so-called perfect hat-trick, putting it in the net with both feet and his head.
