10 Highest Selling UFC PPVs Of All Time

4. UFC 158: St-Pierre vs Diaz €“ 1,100,000 Buys

Ufc 158Bell Centre. Montreal, Quebec, Canada. March 16, 2013Attendance: 20,145 Gate: $3,710,000 Georges St-Pierre has always been a huge PPV draw for the company, but UFC 158 was particularly fruitful for the welterweight king. Normally the whiter-than-white Canadian is the embodiment of the honour, respect and sportsmanship which distinguishes MMA fighters from boxers and the like. However, in the build up to UFC 158, Nick Diaz managed to drag GSP into verbal warfare the likes of which we had never seen the welterweight champion take part in before. Diaz has always been known as a fighter who likes to get inside his opponent€™s head and it had seemed to work on the champion €“ this is why UFC 158 was such a huge PPV seller. Fans who had paid for the PPV to see a dramatic main event were satisfied. On more than one occasion Diaz threw a cheap shot at St-Pierre after the bell had signalled the end of the round, to the shock of the strongly pro-GSP crowd in attendance.-Pierre was able to dominate the former-Strikeforce champion in all areas of MMA and earn another unanimous decision victory.
