After losing out to West Ham in their bid to move into the Olympic Stadium, Tottenham still plan to leave White Hart Lane in the future. Plans are underway to build a 61,000-seater stadium which they claim will be a 'tighter atmospheric bowl' and include the largest single tier in the UK, with the home southern stand housing 17,000 supporters. It would also be suitable for NFL fixtures. With plans in place for the stadium to open in the 2018/19 season, Spurs would have to play their 2017/18 home fixtures away from White Hart Lane with the project set to be built adjacent to their current location.
