10 Last Minute Football Transfers That Could Still Go Down Before The Deadline Day

7. Dayot Upamecano To Manchester United

Dayot Upamecano has been one of the most heavily-talked about defenders in European football over the past couple seasons, with seemingly every club under the sun linked with his signature. At just 21 years of age, the RB Leipzig central defender already has four full seasons, 115 club and 2 full international appearances under his belt.

He was instrumental in RB Leipzig taking the leap towards becoming one of European football's big challengers, appearing in all but two of the German's record-breaking run to the Champions League semi-finals.

Whilst Arsenal have always been the English club associated with the Frenchman, Mikel Arteta's acquisition of Gabriel has quashed any chances of seeing Upamecano in north London this year. If there is one side that is in the market for a central defender however, it's Manchester United.

With Harry Maguire and Victor Lindelof both giving United fans plenty of cause for concern already this season and Eric Bailly, whilst undoubtedly talented, constantly on the treatment table, there's a definite hole in the structure of the side for a no-nonsense, reliable central defender which Upamecano could well be the fit for.
