10 Last Minute Football Transfers That Could Still Go Down Before The Deadline Day

8. Lucas Torreira To Atletico Madrid

At one time Lucas Torreira was considered by fans and pundits as the future spine of the Arsenal team. Energetic, passionate and aggressive on the pitch, it was hoped he would finally be the addition that put some bite back into the Gunners.

Strangely however, there doesn't seem to be much of a future left for Torreira at Arsenal after a 2019/20 campaign that saw his time on the pitch (in the league at least) drop from 2366 minutes in 2018/19 to just 1496, less than the likes of Matteo Guendouzi, Dani Ceballos, Sead Kolasinac and Bukayo Saka.

With rumours continuing to spiral around the future of Thomas Partey, and Arsenal being one of the biggest names linked to the Ghanaian midfielder, this summer window could be the one in which the little Uruguayan departs London.

With plenty of desire, energy and a bite that any team can feel the force of, Torreira certainly looks a Diego Simeone player in the making. His play style could compliment the more silky approach of Saul nicely, and his noticeable dip in playtime over the past year or so could make him one of the bigger bargains out in the market right now.
