10 Last Minute Football Transfers That Could Still Go Down Before The Deadline Day

4. Antonio Rudiger - PSG

At one time the most decorated and reliable defender in a Chelsea backline well known for being inexperienced and unreliable, Antonio Rudiger has suddenly found himself out in the cold at Stamford Bridge.

Having signed in July 2017, the former Roma defender's 2019-20 campaign was certainly no walk in the park, dropping from 44 and 45 appearances in his first two seasons to just 26 in all competitions following the arrival of super Frank Lampard. For a side that made it past the group stages of the Champions League and all the way to an FA Cup final, it's an alarming drop in selection.

The amount of clubs that are seemingly circulating around the Italian defender should be a testament to his quality however, with everyone from Barcelona to West Ham linked with a swoop in before the close of the window.

But, with the departure of Thiago Silva to Chelsea of all places earlier this summer, Paris Saint-Germain could be the ideal destination for Rudiger. Not only do they have complementary centre backs in the likes of Marquinhos, Abdou Diallo and Presnel Kimpembe, but full backs such as Juan Bernat, Layvin Kurzawa and Thilo Kehrer could all pull together to create the perfect three-back formation for Rudiger to become an instrumental cog in.
