10 Memorable Arsenal Goals Scored By Ordinary Players

10. Andre Santos vs Chelsea - October 2011

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q6N86wceN5I Let's be clear, Andre Santos was not an 'ordinary' player. He was a truly horrific joke of a footballer when donning the Arsenal colours, disgraced on the Emirates turf time and time again following a £6.3 million move from Fenerbahce in 2011. Whether it was a confidence issue, or he just simply wasn't good enough, Santos was an abomination for Arsenal. Even during the game where he produced his finest moment, he was still part of a defence that conceded three goals. It was a ludicrously open game, as Arsenal kicked off at Stamford Bridge on a brisk October's morning in 2011. With Robin van Persie having cancelled out Frank Lampard's opener for the hosts in the first half, Chelsea captain John Terry headed the Blues back in front just before the break. Whatever Arsene Wenger said in the dressing-room seemed to have the desired effect, as the Gunners were a different beast in the second half. Rampaging down the left, Santos burst into the box to collect a defence-splitting pass before rifling past Petr Cech in the Chelsea net. A goal from Theo Walcott quickly put Arsenal 3-1 up, before Juan Mata reduced the deficit with two minutes remaining. Two more goals from Robin van Persie silenced any thought of a comeback, however.
