10 Mistakes Spurs Boss Mauricio Pochettino Has Made So Far
9. Buying Players He Isn't Even Using
Pochettino spent a lot of money this summer on Ben Davies, Michel Vorm, Eric Dier, DeAndre Yedlin, Federico Fazio and Benjamin Stambouli. The six players cost a total of around £32.7 million - but hardly any of them are being used. Davies has mostly been limited to cup ties, Vorm has played just once against Nottingham Forest, Yedlin has been sent straight back on loan to his parent club Seattle Sounders, Fazio has only played one Premier League game and the same can be said of Stambouli. Eric Dier is the only new player who has been a mainstay in the team - and that only really happened because of an injury to Kyle Walker. If Spurs had that much money to spend, why not spend it on players who were actually going to improve the first team? It just seems like the buying policy was very, very odd.
