10 Mistakes Spurs Boss Mauricio Pochettino Has Made So Far
8. Selling Gylfi Sigurdsson
When you think of some of the players Mauricio Pochettino has kept at Spurs, it seems very strange that he got rid of Gylfi Sigurdsson. Sigurdsson had proven himself in the Premier League prior to his move to Spurs, having impressed on loan at Swansea City, and never really did anything wrong at Spurs - indeed, he was a fairly regular goalscorer when he was given the opportunity - but he was sold to the Swans on a permanent deal in the summer. Pochettino kept Paulinho, who has yet to impress in the Premier League and who is barely seeing any game time. He also kept Nacer Chadli who, granted, has played well this season, but had made far less of an impact than Sigurdsson at Spurs prior to the Icelandic star's departure, as well as the likes of Ryan Mason who, at 23, is less than two years younger than Sigurdsson and had yet to make a single Premier League appearance for Spurs before this season. Sigurdsson has gone on to continue where he left off at Swansea - he has scored one goal and notched no less than six assists for the Welsh side. He has also starred for Iceland this season - including scoring both goals in a 2-0 victory over the Netherlands. He could have been a great player for Spurs, given half a chance, and it's a real shame that didn't happen.
