Celtic were probably feeling pretty confident when they drew the obscure Switzerland side FC Sion in 2011, although when they only secured an underwhelming 0-0 draw in the first leg the warning signs were there loud and clear. Lumbering Swede Daniel Majstorovic set the tone for this leg when he conceded a penalty and was red carded after just 40 seconds. Pascal Feindouno gleefully tucked away the penalty and the night only got worse for a disjointed Celtic side. The Swiss side added a second when Feindouno twisted and turned an abject defence, before firing into the bottom corner after a ridiculous free kick routine. Celtic pulled one back from Charlie Mulgrew but the away goal was not enough as Giovanni Sio ran through for the home team before lobbing Fraser Forster. Fortunately for Celtic, Sion for some bizarre reason had fielded 5 ineligible players over the two legs and the Bhoys thus qualified for the Champions League. They would never get that lucky again, surely...
