10 Most Important Players For Spurs This Season

10. Ben Davies

Ben Davies provides Spurs with a left back that they can, hopefully, rely on for years - and it's about time. It's a position that has troubled the White Hart Lane club for several seasons and that fact was epitomised last season when, with Benoit Assou-Ekotto out on loan at Queens Park Rangers, they only had Danny Rose as a senior left back. Jan Vertonghen and Kyle Naughton were forced to cover the position when Rose was injured - with Vertonghen being capable, but his absence from the centre back position weakening Spurs, and Naughton being a natural right back. Although Rose has impressed in pre-season and may even start the match against West Ham, it's highly unlikely that he'll remain first choice all season. Expect Davies to emerge as Spurs' clear first choice left back and provide a solution to a weakness the club has had for a while, while providing a potent attacking threat at the same time.
