2. Chris Weidman Suffers Fractured Hand, Belfort Bout Pushed Back To 2015
The most hotly anticipated bout at middleweight since Chris Weidman beat Anderson Silva for the second time would have to be a proposed fight against Vitor Belfort - but the fight gods have done everything in their power to prevent it from happening. First, Belfort had drug woes, that he may or may not have cleared - he will be closely tested (we hope) by the NSAC to ensure he's not cheating. Second, the injury bug struck, and Weidman had to withdraw from UFC 181 in December. The issue? Weidman has a fractured hand, which he may actually have had for a while. Thought it wasn't picked up until after his July fight with Lyoto Machida, Weidman's camp isn't sure if it happened during the fight - or before it. Weidman vs. Belfort will take place at UFC 184 in February - again, we hope.
