10 Most Unfortunate MMA Injuries Of 2014

3. Cain Velasquez Injured Again, Off UFC 180

Cain Velasquez is one of the most troubling figures in UFC heavyweight history, because he is so incredibly talented - but so often injured. The champion has defeated just two men since 2011, going 4-1 in that span. Yes, that's right: Since winning the belt from Brock Lesnar, Velasquez has fought five times against two opponents, beating Antonio Silva twice, and going 2-1 against Junior Dos Santos. Leading up to UFC 180, Velasquez was finally going to fight someone new - opposing coach on TUF Latin America Fabricio Werdum. However, due to a torn meniscus and sprained MCL he pulled out of the November fight. As he had been previously injured, that means Velasquez will have sat out all of 2014. He's due back in early Summer 2015 - we hope.
