Steve Nash was drafted 15th overall by the Phoenix Suns in 1996, but was later traded to the Dallas Mavericks in 1998 after two uneventful seasons in the desert. In Dallas, he played Robin to Dirk Nowitzki's giant, German Batman. Although he made two All-Star teams and was named to the All-NBA third team twice, he struggled to reach his full potential in the Mavericks' system.

When he became a free agent in 2004, the Mavs offered him a low ball contract, as they were reluctant to dedicate big money to a 30 year old point guard. Instead, Nash opted to sign a much more lucrative deal with the Suns, now led by offensive guru Mike D'Antoni.

Nash thrived in D'Antoni's Seven Seconds or Less offense, quickly evolving into one of the most offensively efficient players in NBA history. In eight seasons with the Suns, he led the league in assists five times, he joined the ultra-exclusive 50-40-90 Club a staggering four times, he brought the team to the Western Conference Finals three times, and he won two consecutive MVP awards in 2005 and 2006.

Virgil Atkinson hasn't written a bio just yet, but if they had... it would appear here.
