10 NFL Rookies Who Could Set The League On Fire
3. Jamal Adams
Let's not sugarcoat it: the New York Jets are a disaster this season. Their front office has carefully stripped away many of their talented players and what's left is a hodgepodge of football people that almost certainly cannot win games together. The Jets aren't favored to win a single one of their games this season, not even against the CLEVELAND FRICKIN' BROWNS! That's not to say they don't have any talent; their defense still has a few bright spots, especially rookie safety Jamal Adams.
Adams was considered by many to be the best overall player in the draft, but he slid to 6th almost entirely because safety isn't considered a premiere position. Luckily for the Jets, the LSU product fell into their lap and he's now the cornerstone on which they rebuild their team for the post-Brady era. Having a player of Adams' caliber patrolling the middle of the field is a godsend. His speed, power, and cover skills will allow him to punish anyone who dares make a play on him.
Adams won't be able save the Jets' horrendous season, but he can make a name for himself as one of the league's best young players and offer Gang Green a shred of hope.
