Australian international Craig Moore only played twenty four times for the Eagles but in that time, he fully established himself as a player of undoubted class. Signed by Mark Goldberg from Rangers during his short lived reign as chairman, Palace fans had high hopes that he would help the club maintain their Premier League status for the first time since the league's inception in 1992. However, financial difficulties that ultimately led to administration meant that Palace defaulted on transfer payments and were required to send him back and the club missed out. After Rangers, Moore went on to play for Newcastle and Borussia Mönchengladbach before moving back to Australia in in 2007. He made 52 appearances for the Socceroos and is currently manager of the Coomera Colts.
