10 Of The Best: Foreign Palace Players

8. Mikael Forssell

Mikael Forssell never signed for Palace permanently but Palace fans will always see him as one of their own. A prodigious talent, the young Chelsea star came to Palace on loan over two seasons to try and gain first team experience and forged an excellent partnership with fellow striker Clinton Morrison. The second season they played together brought an excellent thirty nine goals between them despite Palace's awful season that culminated in their last gasp relegation decider with Stockport. After leaving Chelsea, Forssell went on to play for Birmingham and Leeds. In a career hugely curtailed by injury, he still managed to appear eighty seven times for Finland, scoring twenty nine goals.
