10 People You Didn’t Know Almost Managed Spurs

5. David Moyes

The thought of David Moyes being in charge of Spurs, following his terrible tenure as manager of Manchester United, is enough to send shivers down the spines of Lilywhites' fans everywhere. However, the link to him actually came after his spell in charge of the Red Devils! It's not that Spurs spoke to him, but the fact is they were very close to doing so, as Daniel Levy still holds the Scotsman in high regard and was considering offering him quick a route back in to the game. Moyes would have cost nothing in terms of having to buy him out of a contract and, let's face it, he would have snapped a club of Spurs' size hand off after what his United tenure did to his reputation - and the fact that Spurs are looking to save as much money as possible while they are preparing to build a new stadium actually meant he was a very attractive potential recruit for them. Frankly, however, it would have been madness, as Moyes' tactical style is nothing like what Spurs fans like to see from their team.
