Ron was on his way to leaving Paris Saint-Germain at the time and Old Trafford was tipped as a potential destination for the two-time FIFA world player of the year, but instead he ended up at Barcelona. There, he scored 94 goals in 207 appearances, leaving United officials kicking themselves at what might have been.
