Agger was a very popular player at Anfield for many years, but there will always be a certain frustration among Reds fanatics that injuries prevented him from becoming a truly world-class centre-back. He was still a very fine servant to the club, however, and despite his flaws, he was sold very prematurely. The Denmark international never really saw eye to eye with Brendan Rodgers from the day the Northern Irishman arrived though, and there was always a nagging feeling that he wasn't rated by him. More often than not Martin Skrtel, Mamadou Sakho and others were preferred to him, and it started to become apparent his future lay away from Merseyside. Rodgers sold him back to former club Brondby this summer, but considering how woeful they are at the back currently, he would be a perfectly good option to bring into the side were he still around. Dejan Lovren has been catastrophic, Skrtel hasn't been a huge amount better and Kolo Toure, despite an excellent performance against Real Madrid, is past his best. At 29, Agger still has some years left in him, even if he's not quite the player he once was, and he should still be at Anfield.
