10 Players Who Probably Regret Joining Spurs

5. Kevin-Prince Boateng

Ghanian midfielder Kevin-Prince Boateng shot through the youth ranks at Hertha BSC and at the age of 19 he was nominated as one of the best young players in Germany, so when a highly in-demand Boateng signed for Tottenham in 2007, The Lilywhites were itching to fulfil his potential. However, 21 appearances and 0 goals in his debut season saw Boateng's confidence shot and he was quickly loaned out to Borussia Dortmund before signing with Portsmouth in 2009. One season with Pompey attracted attention from Serie A and it was with AC Milan where Boateng finally settled. Three seasons of moderate success then brought Schalke 04 into the frame, and to Boateng's delight he has found a team where he is one of, if not the key player. It looks as if he's now finally on the right track, though it clearly took a lot longer than he undoubtedly expected, and one could suggest that his move to Tottenham was the stumbling block that stumped his progress the most.
