Porto are renowned for developing and selling on some of the greatest footballers throughout recent years and when Jose Mourinho took the reigns of the Portuguese club, Helder Postiga was installed as the first choice striker at just 20-years-old. With 19 goals for Porto in the 2002-03 campaign, £6.25 million appeared to be a snip for Postiga when he joined Tottenham. However his rising stock was rapidly decreased over the course of the following season, as the forward struggled to adapt in England, finding the net just once in the league. After the disastrous spell with Spurs, Postiga attempted to save face by returning to his previous club, Porto. However, sadly, his luck never changed, and over the next 10 years, Postiga failed to surpass or even match his highest goal tally of 19 in a single season. Although Postiga has never approached anything close to his form under Jose Mourinho, he's still managed to maintain his place in the Portuguese national team. Very odd considering his poor club performances, which ultimately began at Spurs and continued indefinitely, perhaps White Hart Lane wasn't the best choice after all.
