When Robert Green turned down a new contract offer in 2011, we all presumed it was because of his aspirations to play for a bigger club. He had been in great form for us, and despite his tarnished reputation following a nightmare error against the USA in the 2010 World Cup, Hammers fans still saw him as a great quality goalkeeper. Strange then it was, that after his release from West Ham he joined QPR who were amidst a serious relegation battle. They failed to win this battle and this saw Green demoted to playing Championship football.
