Like Jonathan Obika, Lee Barnard never made any kind of impression at White Hart Lane and, again like Jonathan Obika, he still lasted at the club until he was nearly 24 years of age. Barnard was a striker who, in his six years at Spurs, was loaned out five times - never any higher than League One - and he didn't really hit the ground running in any of those spells apart from the last one, when he managed three goals in ten games at Crewe Alexandra. He made just three appearances for Spurs - all as a substitute in the Premier League - and didn't score. It was January 2008 when he finally departed the club, joining Southend United, where he found his level and performed relatively well. Having then moved to Southampton and been loaned out a further three times by the South coast club, he is now back on the books at Southend, but is out on loan at League Two side Stevenage. He is 30 years old.
