In spite of the fact that it's the position in which they have the most players - Paulinho, Etienne Capoue, Mousa Dembele, Nabil Bentaleb, Ryan Mason, Benjamin Stambouli et al - central midfield is the one part of the team Spurs can't nail down their starting duo. Morgan Schneiderlin, as a proven Premier League star and someone who is undoubtedly above the level of anyone at White Hart Lane, would walk straight in to the team and instantly improve it. Spurs already tried to sign the French international last summer but Southampton wouldn't let him go, but they should undoubtedly try again in January, as reuniting the player with his former boss would give the Lilywhites some much needed quality and stability in the middle of the park.
