Another big Belgian international striker, Christian Benteke has long been linked with Spurs. In 2013, he was said to be on the verge of a move to White Hart Lane but, at the last minute, he signed a new contract with Aston Villa, severely disappointing fans of the Lilywhites. Last season, Benteke continued where he left off in his highly impressive breakthrough season at Aston Villa, reaching double figures with his goals tally, despite spending a couple of spells on the sidelines with injury. This season, having returned from said injury, he hasn't really found his form but, based on knowing what he can do - or at least what he could do before his injury - and based on the form of Spurs' own strikers, the White Hart Lane club must rue missing out on the striker last season.
