Romelu Lukaku has been linked with Spurs for years. Whilst a youngster at Anderlecht in his native Belgium, Spurs were one of the many big European sides taking a look at the then emerging talent. He was also a constant source of rumours regarding a potential move to White Hart Lane while he was at London and Premier League rivals Chelsea. In two loan spells away from Chelsea - at West Bromwich Albion and Everton - Lukaku proved himself to be a very capable Premier League goalscorer. Indeed, whilst at Chelsea, he was treated incredibly harshly, as he would no doubt have performed to a decent standard for the Blues if he was given a chance. Spurs could really do with him, as their strikers are struggling to find the net in the Premier League. Between the three of them - Emmanuel Adebayor, Roberto Soldado and Harry Kane - they've scored just two in the first nine Premier League games of the season. Unfortunately for them, he joined Everton permanently in the last transfer window.
