10 Players Who Stole A Living From Spurs

3. Mbulelo Mabizela

Spurs signed Mbulelo Mabizela in August of 2003 when he was, supposedly, a promising 22 year old defender. He arrived from South Africa€™s biggest club team, Orlando Pirates, after he had impressed in a friendly match between them and Spurs (the Pirates actually won 2-1).

He stayed at White Hart Lane for a year and a half before being released in August of 2005. He made a grand total of two starts in that time - only one of which was in the league.

He did score one absolute wonder goal against Leicester City but, overall, his performances were awful and his disciplinary problems were even worse. He missed training sessions and generally made a nuisance of himself and was shipped out to Norway to play for Valerenga.

You can bet your bottom dollar that, during that year and a half at Spurs, he will have made more money than the rest of his career combined, despite offering nothing of note during that spell.

He has since returned to South Africa, where he played for Mamelodi Sundowns, Platinum Stars, Bidvest Wits, Chippa United and Mpumalanga Black Aces who he still plays for now.
