10 Players Who Stole A Living From Spurs

2. Bongani Khumalo

Bongani Khumalo signed for Spurs a couple of days before his 24th birthday from South African outfit Supersport United in January 2011. His signature was based on him having given a solid performance at the 2010 World Cup in his homeland (during which he scored against France €“ his only international goal to this day), but he was clearly untested in a good domestic club league.

You would think that Spurs would have learned their lesson, after having signed Khumalo's fellow South African international Mbulelo Mabizela (the previous entry on this list) from the same league a few years prior and, sure enough, Khumalo's impact at White Hart Lane has been equally non-existent. The strange thing is, Khumalo is still at Spurs now. He has yet to make a single appearance for the club in his three and a half year spell with them and, at 27 years old, it's unlikely that he ever will. He has been loaned out to the likes of Preston North End, Reading, PAOK and Doncaster Rovers - the latter where he finally found his level - but the fact that he is on Spurs' payroll is nothing short of criminal.
