10 Footballers Too Good For Their Current Clubs

10. Steven Defour - Anderlecht

The current generation of Belgium stars is arguably the greatest group of players that the Red Devils have ever produced. When fit, midfielder Steven Defour has been a regular member of the squad, even if not always selected as a starter by manager Marc Wilmots. In fact, the 27-year-old has amassed 42 caps for his country. Having already won two Pro League winners€™ medal and a Belgium Cup at Standard Liege, he went on to lift two Portuguese Primera titles during a fairly impressive three-year spell at Porto. Having fallen a little out of favour at the Estadio do Dragao, it seemed inevitable that he would be moving last summer. However, followers of the talented Belgian will have been disappointed to see him move back to his homeland with Anderlecht. Defour isn€™t a world beater, but he could still do a job in one of Europe€™s top leagues, especially as he is now entering what should be his prime years. Instead, he has to deal with seeing Standard Liege fans unfurling tifo depicting his decapitation.
