10 Players Who Completely Failed At Manchester United
3. Radamel Falcao
Conspiracy theories might suggest that Monaco owed Manchester United the transfer of Anthony Martial after they allowed the formerly prolific Radamel Falcao to join the club on loan. United had an option to buy Falcao come the end of the season but even Louis Van Gaal wouldn't have been daft enough to accept such a deal after the Colombian's nightmarish season.
Having only just recovered from an incredibly serious ACL injury, it was understandable that Falcao might be somewhat rusty from his long lay off but no-one could've predicted just how much the former Atletico man would struggle in the Premier League.
A grand total of four goals in 29 appearances for Manchester United simply isn't good enough for a player who was earning nearly £300,000 a week. Somewhat bafflingly, pundits and experts declared Van Gaal's decision to drop Falcao to the Under 21's in response to his less than impressive performances a disgrace.
Would they rather he'd cantered around doing nothing for the first team instead?
