10 Players Who Probably Regretted Joining Arsenal

8. Lukas Podolski (2012-15)

No one will ever dispute the fact that Lukas Podolski was an extremely talented offensive player, but his time at Arsenal was only solid at best, despite the German player being signed specifically to turn the misfiring Gunners into title contenders once more.

Podolski wasn't exactly a dramatic flop at the Emirates, but his return of 31 goals across three seasons didn't set the world alight either. It didn't help that the traditional forward was forced to play out on the left wing. Podolski may have been a substitute in the triumphant German team of 2014, but he arguably would have had far more game time than his two appearances off the bench were he in fine club form. Indeed, Germany looked in desperate need of a player to replace the aging Miroslav Klose, and Podolski could have been just the man for the job.

A January 2015 loan move to Inter basically heralded Podolski's departure, and the following summer he packed his bags for the Bosphorus, joining Turkish giants Galatasaray. He bagged 34 goals across his two seasons in the Süper Lig - three more than he managed in north London.
