10 Players Who Will Rule Premier League In 2020/21

1. Timo Werner (Chelsea)

Quite possibly the most sought-after striker in European football, there isn't a side going that wouldn't take Timo Werner in their team. Seeing off fierce competition from Liverpool for the German's signature, which should already speak volumes about the quality of player the striker is, Chelsea's capture of Werner for less than £50 million already looks like one of the buys of the summer.

Quick, powerful, more than capable at operating in a fluid frontline and with a Podolski-esque shot, Werner already looks every inch a potent Premier League striker. He jumped from 13 and 16 goals in the 2017/18 and 18/19 campaigns to a whopping 28 across RB Leipzig's 2019/20 Bundesliga season. These 28 goals came from just 34 appearances and with an xG of -4.55 better than what his chances suggested he should have scored, showcasing his proficiency in front of goal.

On top of this, Werner also found the time to add 8 assists to his game, a career best for the German frontman in one season. He averaged 3.92 shots per ninety, comfortably ahead of the likes of Tammy Abraham and Olivier Giroud, and his 1.69 key passes per ninety is again better than the likes of Roberto Firmino and Harry Kane, showcasing the abundance of talent flooding into the league.

Certainly a guaranteed starter for Chelsea, don't be surprised to see Werner gunning for the 2020/21 Premier League golden boot next season.
