10 Players You Didn't Know Nearly Signed For Leicester City
8. Emile Heskey (Again)
Perhaps not the saviour that Leicester's current campaign needs, the thirty seven year old was already at the club in an ambassadorial role before rumours began to circulate that he was going to don the City shirt once again, almost 15 years after initially leaving Filbert Street. It may have been Heskey himself that added fuel to the flames as he indicated he would be more than willing to return to his boyhood club should Nigel Pearson come calling. He had spent two years in Australia with the Newcastle Jets prior to these rumours coming to light and having a born and bred Leicester lad back in the side may well have brought back memories of Leicester's golden years in the late 90s and early 00s that saw them win two League Cups. He instead joined fellow veteran Eidur Gudjohnsen at Bolton Wanderers for what surely has to be the oldest strike partnership in the league.
