10 Reasons UFC Woman's Champion Ronda Rousey Might Lose Her Belt Within A Year
9. The Division Is Catching Up
When WMMA started out, there was some justifiable criticism that many of the participants were one dimensional. You had some wrestlers, and some sloppy boxers, and a lot of heart. Rousey wasn't the first to counter that criticism in the cage, but she was the most successful, and definitely a pioneer. Her judo background, combined with increased striking ability that has really become apparent over the past year, put her ahead of the pack. There are a number of challengers on the horizon, new and old, and we're not thinking of them as "just wrestlers" or "just strikers" for the most part. It won't be long before Rousey feels the nipping at her heels.
