On June 26, 2013, Aaron Hernandez, New England Patriots Tight End, was taken into custody and charged with the murder of Odin Lloyd, a semi-professional football player who's body had been found, bullet-riddled, one mile from Hernandez's house.

Hernandez was linked closely with Lloyd and had a history of gun related violence, so it was no surprise that he was immediately released by The Patriots and suspended by the league.

He is currently awaiting trial for the murder of Lloyd and has been tied to two earlier homicides. He faces life imprisonment if convicted.
