The latest Luis Suarez incident is likely to be the most damning of his career. It comes at the peak of his fame, with the eyes of the entire world upon the World Cup. It isn't just Europe this time discussing his misdemeanours, social media is alive with Suarez condemnation across America and Asia. The whole world is united in criticising the player's dirty actions. Once again, part of the frustration is that Suarez got away with it. He went up to Chiellini and bit him hard. He then proceeded to dive to the floor and roll around in an attempt to deflect accusations he had bit the player. The Italian however had proof, big bite marks in his shoulder. Retrospective camera footage is undeniable, proving that Suarez attacked his fellow professional. There should have been a straight red card, it would have allowed Italy to perhaps win the game. The footballing world is outraged, with FIFA vice president Jim Boyce commenting that There is no doubt that Fifa must take this incident very seriously and take whatever action is deemed necessary." Reportedly that could be up to a two year ban, with it even possible that the punishment could extend to club level. That admittedly seems unlikely and a seven game ban seems more realistic. We would expect him to almost certainly miss the rest of the World Cup, with FIFA giving the player until 9pm BST on the 25th of June to reply to charges. Once again, this player has ruined things for himself. Whether he can turn his career around remains to be seen. With reports of Madrid and Barcelona about to bid for him, we could just be a short while away from another controversy, as the star looks to exit Liverpool for the second consecutive summer.
