10 Most Shocking UFC Drug Failures

1. Josh Barnett

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q1pXTCLCEJY Getting popped for steroids on multiple occasions, Josh Barnett isn't the only repeat offender on this list, but he is the most notorious, and, Chael Sonnen aside, the most popular. On top of that, Barnett is another fighter who lost his UFC belt as a result of a positive drug test. Lets turn the clock back to November 2001, when Barnett would defeat Bobby Hoffman for the second time in his career. After the fight, Barnett would test positive for anabolic steroids. The NSAC would opt to give him a warning - the logic behind this move is unclear - and Barnett, defying logic, was given a shot at the UFC title in his very next bout. In that fight, against Randy Couture at UFC 36, Barnett would ground and pound his way to a TKO victory, becoming the youngest UFC heavyweight champion in history - only to be stripped of the belt after testing positive for steroids for the second fight in a row! It seemed that Barnett didn't get the NSAC's message after that first warning. And even after being released from the UFC, he wouldn't learn. In 2009, leading in to the third Affliction MMA event, Barnett was pulled from his fight with Fedor Emelianenko after testing positive yet again for anabolic steroids. Just over a week out from the fight, the loss of the main event would cause the entire card to collapse - and the company. Affliction would never put another show on again. After fighting in Japan and Australia, Barnett would sign with Strikeforce, and later return to the UFC, where he is currently ranked 5th by the promotion. Because, after repeated steroid busts, you can go home again.
