10 Most Shocking UFC Knockouts

6. Antonio Silva vs. Alistair Overeem - UFC 156

It wasn't too long ago that many pundits considered Alistair Overeem as the most feared heavyweight in the world. He was on a 12 fight winning streak and hadn't lost since 2007. His physique had changed from being a lanky light heavyweight to one of the most massive heavyweights in the world. He began decimating his opponents and finishing them in the first round . When he obliterated Brock Lesnar in about three minutes, it officially put newer fans on notice. Unfortunately for him, he failed the pre-fight drug test before his title fight against Junior Dos Santos. It left Overeem on the sidelines for over a year and needing another win to cement his number one contender spot. Antonio Silva wasn't considered as a serious threat by practically anyone. It was only nine months ago, where he was annihilated by Cain Velasquez in one round. Overeem controlled the fight through the first two rounds by taking him down on a few occasions and punishing Silva with hammer fists. He didn't look the same though. His overall movement looked sluggish compared to being usually explosive. Silva began to gain momentum and landed a well-timed right high kick. That stunned Overeem and he couldn't recover. A barrage of punches on a defenseless Overeem and nobody could understand what quite happened. Joe Rogan would constantly bring up how dangerous Overeem is on his podcast and always talk highly of him. After all the hype for two years, he's unconscious on the canvas in a title eliminator fight, while a 290 pound Brazilian giant is screaming at him to keep fighting.
