10 Most Sickening Injuries In Sport History

9. Jaymie Graham Career Is Ended After Crunching Tackle (Australian Rules Football)

Australian Rules Football, are there any already existing sports which are at least vaguely taken seriously that sound quite so fearsome and almost certain to cause injury to those taking part? What you're looking at up there is Jaymie Graham, a former AFL player whose horrendous record with knee injuries forced him to drop down to a regional league with South Fremantle, unfortunately for him, his injuries followed him. After struggling to overcome two serious injuries, including rupturing his posterior cruciate ligament, Graham seemed to have made a miraculous recovery at the beginning of the 2011 season, being named captain and making his 100th appearance for the club in the process. Unfortunately for Graham, however, his usual bad luck reared up in a game against Subiaco as he was crunched and trapped in a high velocity tackle. The result of the tackle was that Graham not only badly dislocated his kneecap, but also ruptured his anterior cruciate ligament, the culmination of which ended his career early. Whilst both the knowledge of the injury and the fact that it ended his career are particularly sickening, it's the manner in which the tackler just keeps going, unaware of the damage done to Graham, which is equally horrendous, as the pain surely must have dragged on and on for Graham.
