''Im 100% focused here at the moment and I havent really thought that far ahead. I think it would be silly of me to put the idea of rejoining Swansea on loan into my head right now. Ive got to prove to everyone here, and to myself really, that I can do a job at this club and that is what I want to do. - Ben Davies, November 2014.
When Ben Davies left Swansea City for Spurs in a £5 million deal in July, he certainly did not anticipate having to field questions five months later regarding a loan switch back to Wales following a lack of first-team football at White Hart Lane. The very fact that the 21 year old was forced to refute these suggestions is worrying in itself, having been kept out of the side by a decidedly average Danny Rose for much of the season. The Welshman has yet to start a Premier League match for his new club, tasting just 18 minutes of league action so far. Should Mauricio Pochettino continue to overlook the promising left-back, the Welshman may have to move on for the sake of his own international career. After all, it wasnt so long ago that he was being linked with the likes of Liverpool and Manchester City.
