9. Nigel Quashie

Glenn Roeder's acquisition of Nigel Quashie left many West Ham fans perplexed. Purchased to add competition to our midfield and to help West Ham avoid relegation, this was a player who himself had experienced relegation twice already in his career and held a reputation for poor quality football. It was certainly not a signing that put much faith into fans as to the direction the club was going in. As many fans could have predicted, and did, he made no impact in the team whatsoever in his 3 years at the club.
