10 Strikers Who Newcastle Should Sign Instead Of Charlie Austin

5. Paul-Georges Ntep

Age: 23 Club: Stade Rennais Nationality: Cameroonian Estimated Market Value: £10 million League Apps (2014-15): 29 League Goals (2014-15): 9 Paul-Georges Ntep has been one of the standout young stars of Ligue 1 this season. Aston Villa, West Ham and Stoke have all been fighting for the Cameroonian's signature and it has been reported that he could be available for around £10 million. Ntep is versatile and can play anywhere across the front three as well as being able to drop deeper. His main strengths are his dribbling ability, vision and finishing skills - which he flaunted brilliantly in Ligue 1 last season. The 23-year-old is two-footed but prefers to play on the left side of a 4-2-3-1 formation. The Rennais forward would offer a different type of player to Charlie Austin but, given that Steve McClaren has already brought in Aleksandar Mitrovic, it would be beneficial to accompany him with a talented dribbler who can supply him accurately throughout the season. Ntep scored 14 goals in all competitions last season and grabbed five assists and would be around £5 million cheaper than the QPR striker.
