You dont make over 100 caps for Germany if you arent a truly gifted footballer and Lukas Podolski is certainly one of those. However, he never quite found top gear during his time at the Emirates. The Polish-born star had been a household name for many years prior to his summer 2012 arrival and Gunners fans had hoped to see a lot from the former Bayern Munich and Cologne attacker. A return of 19 league goals in two-and-a-half seasons isnt terrible but the World Cup-winner had arrived with so much more potential. A loan spell to Inter didnt work out and he has recently joined Turkish side Galatasaray. Podolski is hardly the worst player to ever play for the Gunners, but the fans were right to expect more from him.
