10 Things Arsenal Fans Need To Know About Mathieu Debuchy

7. He Thankfully Doesn't Own A Discount Loyalty Card For The Physio Room

With the talk of an achilles heel it is only fitting that we talk about injuries: Arsenal's thin squad has always seemed to be decimated as the New Year is ushered in with last season's impressive start being wiped out when key injuries took their toll on the first team. Either our rivals have been giving each other voodoo dolls of Jack Wilshere, Thomas Rosicky and Theo Walcott each year or something has been going wrong with the medical team - which was all but confirmed when Wenger said he would be investigating why the back-room staff were so incapable of keeping the team fit. It should come as an encouragement then, that Mathieu Debuchy hasn't had a career plagued with injuries. He gets sent off, yes, but he doesn't get injured. Injuries have been the bane of every fan in the recent history and if the club can avoid its usual player capitulation then maybe, just maybe, they can mount a serious title push next May, and Debuchy's usually clean bill of health should help.
