10 Things Liverpool Fans Need To Know About Adam Lallana

9. He Grew Up As A Blue

Clint Hughes/EMPICS SportClint Hughes/EMPICS SportInevitably, whenever a footballer signs for a new club and has links to the region, the question of childhood allegiance comes up. Somewhat unfortunately for Liverpool - at least in terms of the cynical crowing that is likely to come from across Merseyside - Lallana, who was born in St Albans before moving down to Bournemouth at the age of five, followed in his father's footsteps in supporting Everton. Though that's likely to inspire some chants from the stands at Goodison Park, it's hardly something to be overly concerned about. Rumours have long persisted that Steven Gerrard was a childhood Everton season ticket holder, and even if that isn't true, the likes of Jamie Carragher, Robbie Fowler, Michael Owen and Steve McManaman were all Everton fans, and subsequently went on to be Anfield icons. If Lallana follows in their footsteps, his allegiance is less likely to be of any concern.
